Common Types of Home Boilers
Combi Boiler
A compact boiler that heats water instantly and does not use a hot water cylinder or loft tank.
System Boiler
A boiler that works with a hot water cylinder (usually in an airing cupboard) but does not have a water tank in the loft.
Conventional (Regular / Heat-Only) Boiler
A boiler that uses both a hot water cylinder and one or more water tanks in the loft.
Back Boiler
An older type of boiler is installed behind a fireplace, usually hidden behind a gas fire in the living room.
